EHWIC-VA-DSL-B and DSL Splitter

Hi,

I have configured an EHWIC-VA-DSL-B for VDSL over ISDN (Deutsche Telekom).

The  DSL connection is Annex B and has been delivered by the Telco together with a DSL splitter
and an ISDN NTBA (which i want to connect to a PBX).

The EHWIC-VA-DSL-B doesn´t get synced if it´s connected to the splitter. If it´s connected directly

to the wall jack without the splitter, everything works fine - but then i can´t make use of the NTBA.

Any idea why the EHWIC-VA-DSL-B is not working with the Splitter?

Thanks

Heinz

Hello,

Are you using the wall socket with a TAE - RJ11 cable and the splitter a original RJ11 - RJ11 cable with small connectors?

It is important that the cable is properly plugged in the splitter. The small connector doesn't fit properly and then produce a high attenuation. Better is a RJ45 - RJ11 cable.

Is another router working with the splitter?

Greetings,

Patrick

Hi Patrick,

thanks for your answer.

Yes, i´m using the orginal RJ-11 cable which has been supplied with the EHWIC.

I have checked the Speedport 723V using the same cable, and it´s working with the Splitter and also
without the Splitter immediately.

Could this be a configuration issue with the EHWIC-VA-DSL-B (i.e. that it needs to have a different configuration
when it´s connected to a Splitter)?

Thanks

Heinz

Hello Heinz,

No, it makes no difference in the configuration whether it is with or without a splitter. The card fits for Annex B.

You can still force a DSL syncro. method (adsl1, adsl2+, vdsl) with the "dsl operating-mode" command. But you don't actually need it since it is default set to automatic. If the EHWIC card get its synchronization with the wall socket it must also do it on the splitter.

Can you send the debug messages from console during sync?

Also if you synced the card directly with telephone wall socket the outputs of the following commands.

(show controllers vdsl x/x/x  or show controllers atm x/x/x)

Check if the 1to1 cable is really connecting, especially in the female connector of Splitter.
