Eigrp problem with 3660

four routers are connected via eigrp.2 of the routers 3660 is connected with additional 2 mb leased line bw them.The line protocol on the two serial r up n when i give tracert to the next hop serial its getting but when i ping the same next hop serial i am not .it wld b really helpful if i cld getany replies..

Hi Midhun,

Just a doubt , whether the serial links are connected correctly and ip configured , Bcos line protocol would be up even when the serial links are connected differently

s1 --- s1

s2 --- s2

but ip configured at s1 at first router and other ip configured at s2 at other router.

Thanks for a early reply..ip s are configured correctly.The strange thing is that i cld ping the both serials from pc but cannot from the router..

Hi Midhun,

Thanx , can u pls check cross check once again the serial connectivity or by shutting down one of the serial and see wheter the appropriate serial at other end goes down .

ys..its gettin down.i donthin probwith physical conn...coz i got it working for 2 days when i switched the link2a diff router on the nw..but it too now showing the same prob..I guess any chances of ios bugs..any way i shld get ping if i am gettin tracert to the next hop router ..all the other links i shutted down..now i can get tracrt thru this single line alone..

It would be helpful if midhun would post the output of show interface and the output of show cdp neighbor detail.

It might also be helpful to have the output of show ip route. And turning on debug ip icmp and repeating the ping might show us something about the error.
