Is it possible to enable the ethernet 2 interface on 836/837 like on the 830 to use as a DMZ interface ?

You will not be able to configure the fast ethernet interfaces with ip addresses. These interfaces are
only layer 2 switch ports and only allows settings of the following parameters:
* Speed
* Duplex

This would be possible with a 1700 series router and the 4 port switch interface. You could define a vlan for each port and create like that 4 interfaces. However, from a security point of view it remains a switch. There might be known or unknown possibilities to connect from one interface to the other without passing the routing engine.

Of course you can.
As you can see from this post, (http://forum.cisco.com/eforum/servlet/NetProf;jsessionid=0ysv8znpz1.SJ1B?page=netprof&forum=Network%20Infrastructure&topic=Getting%20Started%20with%20LANs&CommCmd=MB%3Fcmd%3Ddisplay_location%26location%3D.1dd7a8cc) Simon Bell and I are using two diffent IOS versions, and both seem to work fine.
Simon on a 837 and me on a 831, both routers get a new routed interface called Ethernet2.
