hello team,
I was wondering, I don't think it can be done with the equipment I have but I thought I might ask.,
Simple design,
Cisco1941 - Switch SG200 - Server ESXi
The server is connected on a port, belonging to Vlan 5 - 192.168.5.1 and goes out on internet through trunk.
Now the managers asked me, with the existing equipment if I can make another Vlan, vlan 20 with IP 192.168.5.252 so they can raise VMs in ESXi with 192.168.5.252 and the other halfs with 192.168.5.1.
I know that can't be done since its on same subnet...
Is there another way to achieve that? 2 gateways on same switch? or would I need another swtich with hsrp capabilties?
Many thanks

HA / Resilience means 2 device. if you do not have 2 Device, then you will not get HA/Resilience features.
Personally It not make any sense create 2 VLAN in same device and deploy as HA.
Not sure this is make sense for you ?

May Suggest Manager that buy another setup of equipment for HA, if the business like more Resilience and no downtime acceptable.
This is again business case with CAPEX and OPEX.
