Greetings, i have a BT NTU installed at one of customer sites which presents the circuit on G.703 120ohm, im looking for appropriate baluns to connect between a Cisco 2801 over Ethernet and the NTU itself.

Could someone clarify if the products below would be suitable, picture of NTU attached. I believe the connectors on the NTU are Male BNC.

G.703 Balun 2.048-Mbps, Female

Hello Mark,

balun are fine to connect the g.703 to an RJ-45 E1 port not ethernet port.

You need a straigh through ethernet cable with all pairs cabled to connect the E1 port to the balun RJ-45 port the two coax are connected to their connectors.

And you need two coax cables to connect the balun to the NTU.

E1 port is a serial interface not ethernet.

your choices look like correct but you need an E1 port.

Hope to help

Giuseppe
