Have you ever had to implement jumbo frames WAN T1 connections?

How would it work on TDM circuits? If I configure MTU 1700 on a T1 Serial interface, does the Access supplier also need to configure it or can I just configure it on my Cisco Routers only? I'm trying to understand if the Supplier is required to configure it also or not?  I also have Ethernet WAN connections and want to understand the same; does the Access Supplier need to configure their devices MTU or can it just be configured on the connecting CPE routers to work?

The MTU is required to be supported/configured  on the devices across the path .
