The documentation says:
The Dual SIM feature implements auto-switch and failover between two cellular networks on the
C880G ISRs. This feature is enabled by default with SIM slot 0 being the primary slot and slot 1 being the secondary (failover) slot.
I read from this that they are intended to be used with separate provider of cellular networks.
but in my opinion this does not imply both slots can't be used simultaneously.
But I have no hands-on experience with this model (only the 1841 that has separate HWIC's
So i canot give a conclusive answer.
If you do not need two SIM cards then i should go for SIM0 slot.

I compare this configuration to a 1841 router with 3G-HWIC card.
The SIm card you insert is supplied by a telecom provider.
The integrated 3G card needs to be seen as a modem-card.
you will definitely need to configure the modem to "dial-in" into the provider network.
This configuration will be different per telecom provider.

Hi Pieter
Thank you for your response
I have only one sim card
If i insert it to the slot 0 , i need to configure my slot 0?
If i insert my cim card in slot 1 i need to configure my slot 1 ?
Can i configure and active two slots in the same time ?
Your help is very appreciate

yes, depending on the slot you put it in is, the reference cellular x/x/x will change accordingly.
What is the exact model?
I guess you have got the C881G-U-K9 with integrated modem ?
and you only need to insert SIM-cards

hi Pieter
Can you help me ?
"Configured default profile for active SIM 1 is profile 1."what does it mean?
dOES IT mean that the slot 1 can be used as slot 0?
Thanks
Hung

Hello Hung,
The profile describes the information your modem needs to connect to the mobile network.
like gprs/hsdp/umts provider APN, account to login to the network.etc.
If you got multiple modems, than each modem has it's own profile-1 even if both modems connect to the same provider..
in the link I attached an earlier post, look for summary / detailed steps and Configuring a Modem Data Profile
SUMMARY STEPS
1. show cellular network
2. show cellular radio
3. show cellular profile
4. show cellular security
5. show cellular all

Hello Pieter
Thank you for your time to help me , i am not a cisco engineer , just a project manager.
I have one custome who is particularly hard with me
He comes back to me with the following:
His current config is
"Configured default profile for active SIM 1 is profile 1."
You said both slots have a profile 1 ?correct? Slot0 profile 1 and slot 1 profile 1 ?
My customer did not agree, he needs my confirmation that he can use slot 0 or slot 1 whenever he wants
Best regards

Hello Hung,
do not mix reference to hardware module slots with SIM- card slots.
I said every modem has it's own profile-1 not every SIM-slot.
I'm curious about the reason why your customer would want to switch between the two slots.
If SLOT0 works that must be sufficient? why should he want to change?
And if your customer allready has different information, why would he want confirmation from you?
Let him try and see if this works.....
In my expectation the configuration needs to be prepared differently for the SIM card in SIM0 or in SIM1
And if the SIM cards are from different mobile network providers you need multiple profiles to accomodate this.
profile1 -> provider-1 (default)
profile2 -> provider-2
But it will be possible to prepare a configuration that suits all variations.
How SIM0 and SIM1 are connected to the integrated modem I have not found in the documentation.
output of "show cellular
cellular 0/0/0 is the first to try, 1/0/1, 0/1/0, 0/0/1 are the other options.

Hi Guys,
I would like to know which model of Cisco router can greatly assume this specific job nowadays, because I see that Cisco 880G is end of life
Standing by for your swift answer

Hello,
I think there is a next generation of these routers, the Cisco 880G and 890G Series 4G LTE 2.0 ISRs. They support dual SIMs.
Check Table 5 in the attached datasheet:
