Dear All,

I have one 7507 router and 6509 Switch which are running on OSPF and RIP. These days i'm observing high cpu utilzation on these devices. when i check the "show proc cpu sorted" RIP Router is showing 3-4%. My doubt is whether RIP updates will have that much impact on the cpu utilization.

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/routers/ps133/products_tech_note09186a00800a70f2.shtml

Hope that helps

Hi

The problem i'm facing is due to high ip input and rip router.i would like to know whether rip updtes will have impact on the utilizations...just have a look at this attachement

Hi

Usually high input problem can be nullified by enabling CEF on the routers.

Is it possible for you to configure IP CEF in global mode and check for any change or difference in the CPU utilisation ??
