Hi, i would try a trace route and see if you can detect where the packets are being lost. Also and extended ping might be helpful, type "ping" and then press enter and fill in the prompts, aslo check speed and duplex on both ends. HTH

esi-r1#ping

Protocol [ip]:

Target IP address: 2.222.xxx.xxxx

Repeat count [5]:

Datagram size [100]:

Timeout in seconds [2]:

Extended commands [n]: y

Source address or interface: 2.222.xxx.xxx

Type of service [0]:

Set DF bit in IP header? [no]:

Validate reply data? [no]:

Data pattern [0xABCD]:

Loose, Strict, Record, Timestamp, Verbose[none]:

Sweep range of sizes [n]:

Type escape sequence to abort.

Sending 5, 100-byte ICMP Echos to 2.222.254.154, timeout is 2 seconds:

Packet sent with a source address of 2.222.xxx.xxx

!!!!!

Also, if possible give the output of the extended ping as well as show interface ethernet

Cheers,

Nikhil E.
