How do we upgrade SRE 910 to VMWare ESXi 5.5?

We have about 11 SRE modules deployed still running ESXi 5.0.0.   What is the proper path to upgrading these units to ESXi 5.5?  Is it possible?

The SREs are only able to go to ESXi 5.0 as you have it. To get a higher version of ESXi you have to get into the E series blades. The SRE modules are pretty much dead for development.

I was able to reach ESXi 6 following only VMWare community cli upgrade commands. At the end, ESXi is ok but management of SRE slot from Cisco IOS gone broken. SRE-V boots with router startup and I can request shutdown thru cli or web gui but to start again, router reload is required or reboot command to be issue.
