How i can route this Network -- see my diagram picture

Hi Thomas,

You haven't included the subnet masks on your diagram but if I assume they are classful you will need to:

On the Cisco 2801 add a static route to the 172.16.0.0/16 network:

ip route 172.16.0.0 255.255.0.0 10.10.10.10

And a route back on the Linksys, not that familiar with Linksys but I can imagine there will be a section on the GUI where you can add a static route, you will need to state: 192.168.1.0 255.255.255.0 is accessible through the next hop of 10.10.10.1.

A static route to linksys and another static route to 2801 router is enough.

i added a static route to my cisco 2801 router ... ip route 17.16.16.0 255.255.255.0 10.10.10.10

also i added a statci route to cisco Lynks E1000

Cisco E1000 Advanced Routing GUI

Destination LAN Ip== 192.168.1.0

Subnet Mas =                255.255.255.0

Gatway =   10.10.10.1

after that i recieive an error from E1000 Lynkis  ========INVALID STATIC ROUTE====

so please can you help me this

The routes your putting in seem fine. the only reason the linksys might not have taken the command you put in, I think might be because the 10.10.10.0 network isn't up.

I'd start at PC1. ping the local gw 192.168.1.1, Ping the other side of the router 10.10.10.1. Ping the switch if it has an address. Ping linksys e1000 10.10.10.10 and then try pinging 172.16.16.1

Then from PC2 the reverse.

That should be all you need but as I said I am unfamiliar with Linksys.

The only things that comes to mind is that the 192.168.1.0/24 network is local to the Linksys i.e. it is the default LAN assigned to the device and you haven't got rid of it so it wont let you add the static route to that same network.

The other thing I would check is for NAT, I believe these types of routers NAT by default so turn any NATing off.
