Hi i have a problem similar to another post i found on the forum, but without an answer . We have a network design similar to this :
Branch_1_Router=====HubRouter=====Branch_2_Router
Tha idea is to buy a 2821 with aim/atm bundle 4E1 Wvic, and on HubRouter make a 2E1 connection towards Branch_1, and another 2E1 connection towards Branch_2.Obviously the two connwction are different L3 connection, with differnet IMA-GROUP. Is this design supported with only ONE AIM/IMA slot ?
I found this configuration on cisco website :
http://www.cisco.com/en/US/tech/tk39/tk356/technologies_configuration_example09186a0080174992.shtml
in this there are all the E1 link boundled under IMA-GROUP 0 , and then configured the L3 under ATM/IMA0 interface, and under this interface there is nothing referred to ima-group 0; so i imagine the ima-group 0 is linked to ATM/IMA0 . If so, how can i configure more than 1 ima-group (if possible) and let it manage by only 1 AIM/IMA ?
thanks in advance
Max

Hello Max,
two IMA groups each with 2 E1 should be possible and indeed expected
see this example
ima-group group# under physical interfaces to declare to what group they belong
and datasheet of ATM AIM
>> IMA 1.1 Support
Hope to help

Are you sue you still want to use IMA ?
There is a lot of wasted bandwidth with ATM at low speed, beside the added hardware complications.
For these reasons using simple IP or MLPPP is a better choice.
