Hello Ashu,
iBGP, as opposed to eBGP, is used for internal peering, that is peering within the same AS. eBGP is used to interconnect different ASs...
Check this link and scroll down to the drawing, it visualizes the difference:

IBGP....all peers or routers are coverd in the same AS number and they mesh connection...but they are many other features,,between IBGP ( Internal BGP ) and EBGP ( External BGP )...hope that helps

ibgp is useful if a network has redundant isp connections. If R1 and R2 are in your AS and you want to connect each router to a different AS, you would use ibgp between R1 and R2 to provide your network with connectivity two or more seperate autonomous systems.

Hi,
iBGP advertises networks to other iBGP neighbours(routers within same AS).Whereas eBGP advertises networks to other eBGP neighbours(routers in different AS).There is no separate configuration commands. They are identified by AS number specified in the router bgp
Hope this clears you.If so rate this post.
Thanks,
Gilli
