Hi all ,
Below is the requirement ..
Between CE router and PE router -- EBGP... Allow only defalt route from PE to CE and allow specific LAN subnets form CE to PE using route maps under router BGP.
Between CE router 1 and CE router 2 --- Run IBGP
Between CE router 1 and Switch 1 , CE router 2 and Switch 2 --- EIGRP
Between Switch 1 and Switch 2 , configure trunk and place one L3 vlan in EIGRP..All vlan should be active on Switch 1 ..IGP is EIGRP on the switches.
Whenever PE1 to CE1 link goes down , there should not be any impact as traffic should pass thorugh PE2 to CE2 link..
Any useful links / configuration examples for the above scenario.
If we run EIGRP between the switches by placing L3 vlan in EIGRP , will switches communicate / gets updates of EIGRP routes as Switches are connected using L2 trunk...
Any suggestions would be appreciated..
Failover should work when we consider Link level or device level..means if one link goes down traffic should flow through other link ie any one of the PE to CE link ..If one router CE router goes down then also traffic should go through other CE router.
Thanks ,

Yes, it will work in case of failure of the WAN Link. However, in case of failure of one of the LAN links (and you are redistributing the default from BGP to EIGRP) you will need the command bgp redistribute-internal in order to redistribute the default route learned from iBGP to EIGRP, assuming that this is a Primary/Backup solution. By the way, be careful when you use this command, don't forget to control what routes you are sending towards the PE, via filtering the specifics that you want or via network in BGP.
Hope this helps,
Jose.
