Hi, I have a 7606 router with SUP720-3B. Is there a SUP or RSP I can upgrade to which will support the whole internet's routing table, and how much memory upgrade will I need? I'm also having issues with fragmentation of GRE tunnels to the router. I know the SUP720-3Bs are known to have issues with this. Is there a workarround?

Hello,
upgrade to WS-SUP720-3BXL or better
We have two of them receving two full BGP tables and they work well
6 2 Supervisor Engine 720 (Active) WS-SUP720-3BXL SAL10467RED
and for BGP prefixes:
34028 32279 102076074 0 0 1w3d 2913
897030 897148 102076074 0 0 40w5d 1
26002164 897072 102076074 0 0 40w5d 271572
26115413 897143 102076074 0 0 40w5d 234211
or better or rsp-720 if you like and you can
it should behave better with GRE
Hope to help
Giuseppe

Hello,
we have 1GB on our systems
someone says to count 256 MB for eaxch full table
A device of mine the same of the show in previous post is currently:
sh proc mem | inc Free
Processor Pool Total: 903574352 Used: 407205024 Free: 496369328
I/O Pool Total: 67108864 Used: 14337856 Free: 52771008
Be aware that DFCs have to be able to hold CEF table as resulting of the routing table
so also the memory on DFCs is important
Hope to help
Giuseppe
