ip http server command not working on Packet Tracer

Hi Folks

I want to use ip http server or ip http secure-server command as im setting up a VPN client to server project on routers (1841 v12.4 and 1941 v15.1) but its not polling.

I even upgraded the routers IOS to version 15 (latest available on the server) using TFTP server as Cisco recommended but it didnt work.

Is there anything else to try or any workaround?

Please dont tell me to use GNS3.

Error:R1(config)#ip http server

Invalid input detected at marker.

Equipments used: Cisco routers 1841 v12.4 and 1941 v15.1

Cisco Packet Tracer version: 7.3.1 (latest)

Hello

PT doesn't support a full feature set of cisco software so don't be surprised if a variety of featured don't work as you expect them to.

what are you trying to achieve ? As Paul stated, the feature is not supported in Packet Tracer. Your only option is to create an external HTTP server as described in the video below:

I certainly agree with the comments about PT not supporting some functions. And since ip http server is pretty peripheral to the main functions of routing I am not surprised that it may be not supported in PT. In the original post we are told that this is part of a vpn client to server project. I am not clear how http server relates to vpn client to server.

Thank you for the clarification and for providing the link to the lab instructions. I now realize that http server was not really part of the vpn configuration but http server was to enable CCP, and CCP would then be used to configure the vpn server parts of the lab. 

So now we are in a difficult situation, and there are not good/easy answers about how to resolve it.

- one option is to not worry about CCP and to configure the vpn server using CLI on the router. This should be possible, but certainly not easy. And it is a significant departure from the written lab instructions (so you are kind of on your own for this part).

- if PT does not support things that you need to do then you can try this lab using a different emulator. (Given your reaction in an earlier post I am not going to suggest GNS3, so perhaps you can find another emulator that does support this)
