IP Proxy ARP Behavior

Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone knows whether or not a  router (enabled with proxy arp) will respond with its own mac-address  for destinations that doesn't match any specifc routes in its routing  table but matches only the router's default route.

Any insight would be extremely helpful.

Thanks,

David

Hello ,

effectivelly yes , I have been to the same problem with 2911 router that respond for same IP destinations with its own @mac and create problem of duplicate @IP even theses destinations does not match with any routes in their routing table , until now I don't understand this behavior , I just desactiveted proxy arp to stop the problem.
