Hi All,
I'm looking for a few suggestions regarding the configuration used in an IP SLA to run from a remote site to our main office. The remote site will have a 1.5Mbps (T1) WAN connection.
From my experience I've always used 'udp-jitter' or 'jitter' (depending on IOS) specifying a specific source IP address and a codec.
My question is...in order to have the information generated by the SLA meaingful, but not flood the link...what is a proper setting for the following:
- frequency
- codec
- codec-numpackets
- request-data-size
Looking to hear what everyone else has currently deployed

You should try the following:
ip sla monitor 100
type jitter dest-ipaddr xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx dest-port 16384 codec g711alaw
advantage-factor 2
owner your_name_if_you_like
exit
ip sla monitor schedule 10 start-time now
exit
show running-config | begin ip sla monitor 100
HTH,
Elyinn.-
