IPSLA and Recurring Group Schedules

Hi All,

I've set up a few group schedules to spread out our IPSLA operations over a period and I'm looking to have them start at 08:00 and run until 18:00 every day (business hours). I have the following schedule:

ip sla group schedule 10 100 schedule-period 60 life 36000 start-time 08:00 frequency 60

This seems to work OK on the day I set it up (assuming I do it before 8:00am) but it does not trigger the next day. There is no recurring option in the group schedule as there is in the normal schedule. The operation config shows:

Schedule:

Operation frequency (seconds): 60  (not considered if randomly scheduled)

Next Scheduled Start Time: Start Time already passed

   Group Scheduled : TRUE

   Randomly Scheduled : FALSE

   Life (seconds): 36000

   Entry Ageout (seconds): never

   Recurring (Starting Everyday): FALSE          <<<<<<<<<

Status of entry (SNMP RowStatus): Active

Has anyone come across this and found a way to make the schedule reoccur every day?

Thanks,

Gary

IPSLA and Recurring Group Schedules

well, only the ip sla schedule was the recurring option, not the SLA group...

I was thinking about it, and maybe you can build a KRON to run everday, and start the sla group.

Or have you tried to use the recurring option in each SLA?

and then bind it with the ip sla group schedule 1 reschedule.

r8(config)#ip sla group schedule 1 ?

WORD Multiple probe ID's to be group scheduled

add Add probes to existing group

delete delete probes from existing group

reschedule Reschedule the group using previous config

From the reschedule option, i believe that it uses a previous config.

I hope that it helps

IPSLA and Recurring Group Schedules

Hi Pedro,

I ended up using EEM instead of KRON. KRON does not allow privalege mode commands and the group schedule commands come under this heading. EEM job basically runs a terminal session and runs whatever command you feed it. Final test will be tomorrow morning when I see if everything has worked.

Thanks,

Gary
