Hello,
I am experiencing an issue with a interface on an ISR router; the interface status remains down, line protocol down.
In order to bring the interface up, I wanted to change speed and duplex in interface command level (config-if) , but I am not able to see these options [as I supposed to be]
Any advice is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Netmart

here is the solution,
!! if interface has UTP & SFP ports
int gi x/x/x
media-type rj45
no nego auto
speed XXX
duplex full
no shut
!!! if interface has only UTP port
int gi x/x/x
no nego auto
speed XXX
duplex full
no shut

Hello Saravanan,
Thank you for your input.
I assume that it is only possible to apply these changes if the interface has been administratively shut down. Otherwise these options, such as media type or duplex are not available on interface configuration level (config-if).
Correct?

Hi,
Try with disabling or enable auto-negotiation and proper media type as RJ45 (if dual port type). If the issue remains same then book a call with TAC.
Note: You must check the remote end device port status or fault or cable error etc before the process to the TAC team.
