ISR1100 Unable to upgrade ios.

What I am trying to do is upload the new IOS to the router.

I have done this before on a ISR4321 when using TFTPD64 on my computer.

I am a complete beginner and I am not sure what other options I have to get the IOS uploaded to the router.

I connect a console cable and a network cable between the router and PC.

I have two different ip addresses in the same subnet.

I can ping the router from the pc and vice versa.

Since I am unable to configure VRF I am not sure how to continue because without it I am not sure how I can use TFTP.

On the ISR4321 I could use this command on the interface: vrf forwarding Mgmt-intf

When I use this command on the router I get this result:

Router(config)#int gigabitEthernet 0/0/1
Router(config-if)#vrf
Router(config-if)#vrf forwarding Mgmt-intf
% VRF Mgmt-intf not configured

Found nothing about this on the internet: % VRF Mgmt-intf not configured
Not sure how to configure the VRF the correct way.

copy tftp: bootflash
ip addres
Filename

Then it says It does not work and I belive it is because of the VRF.

You do not need VRF interface for the Upgrade to Copy image to router

As you mentioned  You can reach each other "I can ping the router from the pc and vice versa."

I believe your PC running TFTP Server, Copy the image to Root folder of TFTP Server.

Copy using IP to copy

Stil you looking for VRF, you need to create VRF interface first then put the interface in to VRF later
