Issue with redistributing from bgp into eigrp using route map

Hi All

I'm having an issue with redistributing from bgp into eigrp using route map and prefix list

I have vrf's on the router

If I remove the route map redistribution seems to work.

All the ip addresses in the prefix lists are present in the bgp table

config below

router eigrp 101
 !
 address-family ipv4 vrf TEST
  redistribute bgp 64550 metric 1 10 255 1 1500
  network x.x.x.x 0.0.0.0
  passive-interface default
  no passive-interface GigabitEthernet0/1
  autonomous-system 101
 exit-address-family
 bfd all-interfaces
!
router bgp 64550
 bgp router-id x.x.x.x
 bgp log-neighbor-changes
 no bgp default ipv4-unicast
 !
 address-family ipv4 vrf TEST
  bgp router-id x.x.x.x
  redistribute eigrp 101 route-map EIGRP>BGP
  neighbor x.x.x.x remote-as 5555
  neighbor x.x.x.x timers 10 30
  neighbor x.x.x.x activate
  neighbor x.x.x.x send-community extended
  neighbor x.x.x.x soft-reconfiguration inbound
 exit-address-family
!
!
ip prefix-list TEST seq 1 permit 10.30.108.0/24
ip prefix-list TEST seq 2 permit 10.30.14.0/23
ip prefix-list TEST seq 3 permit 192.168.114.0/23
!
!
route-map BGP>EIGRP permit 10
 match ip address prefix-list TEST

Any ideas?

Hi,

You could include this command in BGP: bgp redistribute-internal, the iBGP learned routes are not advertised to the IGP via redistribution so you can add that command. Although as I remember the iBGP learned routes are not usually redistributed into an IGP it could be a solution.

Also I suggest this metric in EIGRP redistribution:  redistribute bgp 64550 metric 100000 10 255 1 1500

Hi

The thing is, there are no issues with the redistribution, it works.

But as soon as I apply the route map it doesn't work, even though the prefixes are learned in bgp

any ideas?

Hi,

What is the route-map applied into EIGRP?

router eigrp 101
 !
 address-family ipv4 vrf TEST
  redistribute bgp 64550 metric 1 10 255 1 1500

Are you matching the correct subnet mask known into the BGP table?

Hi

the route map is BGP>EIGRP

It has actually working now, I changed the metric to the one you suggested and wella!!

How come the seed metric I put in didn't work?

cheers for your help

You are welcome  :-)

Actually I have seen situation where the metric 1 1 1 1 1 is configured and that is not good because that is not representing real metrics.
