Licensing and ISR-G2

Router A Serial number = aaaaaaaaa ( IP BASE )

Router B Serial number = bbbbbbbbb ( SECK-9 )

RouterA is deployed in CityA while RouterB is deployed in CityB . Currently both routers are configured with static routes and NAT entries and now there is a requirement for some IPSEC VPN in CityA ( RouterA ) , I will need to purchase one Security technology pack to resolve this or I can swap the harwdare physically as there seems to be no requirement of Security pack on another site .

Is there a way I can swap technology pack by the help of cisco ? so that I may not need to purchase extra license or replace boxes physically . Idea is to have a security pack on RouterA and IP Base on Router B .

I think there is no way, but you can try asking licensing@cisco.com

Hi,

If you are sure that Router B does not need seck9 licesne, probably swapping the hardware is the way to move forward.

However, as Paolo suggested, Licensing team could confirm things for you.
