Q. What are the key new features and changes that are being introduced in the Cisco 4451-X?

A. The Cisco 4451-X offers:

• Default forwarding bandwidth of 1 Gbps upgradable to 2 Gbps with a software-activated upgrade license

Reliable for SP?  Rather early to tell, as it's so new.  Probably as good as other ISRs.

4 byte ASN?  Don't know, but likely it does. Doubtful a new router, with current IOS, would not.

Hi Joseph,

Upgradable to 2Gbps with a software-activated upgrade license means latest IOS, not any hardware require ? am i right ?

Pl clear me for the same.

Thanks for insight.

Yes, software license upgrade appears to be all you need.  (Seems similar to one of the ASR1Ks, i.e. software license performance upgrades.)
