Maximum number of subinterfaces supported

Can anybody tell me how many subinterfaces supported on gigabit ethernet ports on any series of cisco routers like 7600,3825,7200?

There is not a hard limit established for the number of subinterfaces supported on interfaces of Cisco routers. The limit on the number of subinterfaces supported is based on the number of IDBs available (every physical interface, every virtual interface, every subinterface requires an IDB (Interface Descriptor Block)). The number of IDBs varies by platform and by IOS release. So the number of subinterfaces supported will depend on how many other interfaces are configured and what platform and release the router is running.

This is not the direct and precise answer that you hoped for but it is the most accurate answer that I know how to give.

However, the no. is the total no. that the router can handle instead of per-interface.
