ME 3600X Inter-VLAN/Bridge-Domain Routing

Hello All,

We've run across a rather odd issue with inter-vlan/bridge-domain routing on a ME-3600X-24FS switch.

When routing to a directly connected subnet from single tagged EVC's we don't see any issues.  However, when routing from a double tagged EVC to a single tagged EVC, in different bridge-domain's, same VRF, routing dies.  We can successfully PING from a host on the double tagged EVC to an IP on the opposite bridge-domain/vlan configured locally on the 3600X, just not a host connected to the single tagged EVC.  We can also successfully PING from a host on the double tagged EVC to a host on the same bridge-domain on a single tagged EVC.  So the issue here seems to be from a double tagged EVC to a single tagged EVC, located in a different bridge-domain, same VRF.

From all of our testing this is starting to look like a possible IOS bug.  However, we wanted to run this past the community first in case anyone has run into a similar issue or had any suggestions.

Sample config:

Double tagged EVC on G0/1:

service instance 1 ethernet

  description (removed)

  encapsulation dot1q 1101 second-dot1q 1104

rewrite ingress tag pop 2 symmetric

  bridge-domain 99

!

Single tagged EVC on G0/2:

service instance 3 ethernet

  description (removed)

  encapsulation dot1q 98

rewrite ingress tag pop 1 symmetric

  bridge-domain 98

!

VLAN interface config:

interface Vlan98

description (removed)

ip vrf forwarding MGMT

ip address 10.64.0.129 255.255.255.240

!

interface Vlan99

description (removed)

ip vrf forwarding MGMT

ip address 10.64.2.1 255.255.254.0

We have recently upgraded to 15.3.3S and found that this issue is resolved.
