hi,
i got an ASR1K that i would upgrade IOS-XE (and ROMMON) from 16.9 to 17.3 to support smart license.
after the code upgrade and necessary config for call home, do i only issue this command/macro to convert its current advance enterprise license to smart license?
ASR1K#license smart conversion start
will this automatically "add" the permanent license to smart license cloud?
will the license authorization take effect immediately or do i need to wait a few hours?
seems cisco documentation is scarce. does anyone have a good link or cisco live doc?
ASR1K#sh license all
License Store: Primary License Storage
StoreIndex: 0 Feature: adventerprise Version: 1.0
License Type: Permanent
License State: Active, In Use
License Count: Non-Counted
License Priority: Medium

hi balaji,
i got an on-prem CSSM server and need to know which one should i configure in my ASR1K after upgrading to 17.3.2?
per the doc/link you gave, do i use the "smart" config/approach?
have you personally tried registering an IOS-XE 17.3 device to smart license?
ip name-server 10.8.8.9
ip domain lookup
ip domain-lookup source-interface Loopback0
ntp server 10.8.8.9
ip http client source-interface Loopback0
license smart transport smart
license smart url https://<MY ON-PREM FQDN>/Transportgateway/services/DeviceRequestHandler
#license smart register idtoken <ON-PREM CSSM TOKEN>
or do i configure "call-home" approach?
ip http client source-interface Loopback0
license smart transport callhome
license smart url https://<MY ON-PREM FQDN>/Transportgateway/services/DeviceRequestHandler
call-home
no profile CiscoTAC-1
profile <ON-PREM PROFILE>
source-interface Loopback0
#license smart register idtoken <ON-PREM CSSM TOKEN>
