Modem and Fiber Optic Cable Question

There are 4 types of Broadband Internet service: DSL, Cable, Fiber-Optic, Satellite. Is this a reason why modem is unnecessary if I am using a fiber-optic cable?

Just curious, out of 4 types of Broadband Internet service, which one is being used when I use the cell phone to access the internet (DSL?)?

you would have to have some form of modem or router for the fibre cable to terminate on to use it , not all companies supply direct fibre to homes but some ISPs like Magnet do , Magnet use telsy modems as an example , then you could connect your own router off it

If your using your cell phone to access the internet its going over a different medium mobile broadband , 3g or 4g through local providor towers , packet switching over a cell network provided by the carrier , you can get 3/4g routers with sim cards that allow this type of connection , or ad hoc your laptop off your phone same thing
