Multchannel on VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1

Hello

I would like to know if someone configure a interface model VWIC2-2MFT-T1/E1 with more than one channel group, because I've read the data sheet that is possible a multchannel configuration, but I didn't find any example of this kind of configuration on the Cisco we site.

hi

you can create different channel group's.

in VWIC-2MFT-E1/T1.

suppose the controller is in E1 0/0

you have to put

Line-termination 75/120-ohm

clock source

linecode

and then you have to create a diif. channel group.

like

channel group 1 Timeslots 1

channel group 2 timeslots 2

the above 2 lines will create 2 diff. serial interfaces.where you can configure ip addresses.

this particular serial interfaces can handle only 64k

line.If you need connection of 256k,

you have to create a channel group please see the below line.

Channel-group 3 timeslots 1-4

for this particular channel group the serial interface will handle 256kbps.

Hello Binoy

Thanks for you reply, but it seems that this kind of configuration is not supported by the interface model VWIC-2MFT-E1/T1. Where in my tests to try the multi channel configurations I always recive the erro message below:

rtpgo0101(config-controller)#controller E1 1/3

rtpgo0101(config-controller)#channel-group 1 timeslots 1-6

rtpgo0101(config-controller)#channel-group 2 timeslots 7-12

%Insufficient resources to create channel group

rtpgo0101(config-controller)#

Depending on VWIC card, you might not be able to create more than one channel group.

"Q. How many channel groups can the VWIC2 support?

A. Two channel groups can be supported per VWIC2 module. When a 2 port VWIC2 is used, only 1 channel group is supported per port."

The above is gotten from

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/partner/products/ps5855/products_qanda_item0900aecd8028d2e5.shtml

hi thanks for your input, i really appreciate it.

3 months before i did a project with diff timeslots,

but that was not VWIC-2MFT, i forgot its Part no.

that was a DB-15 to BNC interface.

i thought it's the same for VWIC also.

anyway thanks for your valuable information.

Thanks & Regds

You could try this card on the 2600/3600/3700/2800/3800 series routers. Cisco E1/T1 ISDN PRI Network Module (NM-1CE1T1-PRI). It should support multiple channel groups. With a DB15 to BNC Interface, I guess that it should be the PA-4E1G-75 on the 7000/7200/7500 series.

The problem isn't the VWIC. Insufficient resources typically means a lack of DSP resources for the number of channels. Either there aren't enough DSPs or they aren't configured.
