Hi,
Location A & B are connected by two E1 links configured for Multilink PPP.
If one of the link goes down in Location A, the corresponding link becomes inactive in Multilink PPP group which is by default.
Location B which connects to the corresponding link still shows up and it is not getting unbundled from the Multilink. Any specific timer parameters to be configured..?
thanks
regards

Hi Sundar
When the link is down in the remote end are you seeing any packets using that link on the remote end ?
Is the bundle constructed over simple NM(E1) interfaces or using controller cards ?
Have u checked up for a momentary flaps/fluctuations which may also a reason for this ..
one more criteria may be the link termination on the remote end mite got have swapped and u mite be checking the link wich is up.its difficult to identify coz ur not assigning the ip address to the induvidual links instead to a multilink(logical)interface.
do cehck out for logs on the remote end and find the status of the other link too.also the b/w under the multilink when the link is down.
also can u paste the running configs of the physical link, multilink as well as the show interface output of all the interfaces..
Also the routers being used on both the locations as well as the ios code on them.

Hi Prem,
Remote End is sending packets to that interface since it up.
Multilink PPP is bundled on E1 controller cards .
No momentary flaps/fluctionas are present.
Remote end is not swapped and it is proper.
A Location IOS 12.2-8 T10
B Location IOS 123 -3e.bin
Both Location routers are 2621xM
Thanks

hi
hv u tried removing the interface from the bundle and reconfiguring it back to the bundle ??
also the problem occurs with the router running 12.2 or 12.3 ?

Hello,
in addition to Prem's posts, you might want to set the keepalive interval on the multilink interface, as well as the participating member interfaces, to the lowest possible value, which is 1 second:
interface Multilink1
keepalive 1
!
interface Serial0
keepalive 1
etc., check if that makes a difference...
