NAT and Port Forwarding

Question.

Can a router do port forwarding using the IP on

its interface ?

Setup.

Internet ---- Router ----- Mail Server ( Private IP )

ISP gave only 1 global IP address which was already used on the router interface. I have

a mail server that needs to be seen outside and

other workstations that need internet access.

Hello,

This is possible, using NAT port forwarding with the extendable keyword. For example, port tcp 25 (smtp) can be forwarded/translated as follows:

ip nat inside source static tcp 25 25 extendable
