All,

I currently have two 7206 with a NPE-G2 installed.  It time to replace it.  We have a ASA 5510 after the G2.  I was looking to buy a ASR 1001 and leave the ASA, but then started thinking about just getting rid of the ASA 5510 and the G2 with just a Firepower 2110. 

With the G2 i am not able to accept BGP routes (we are multi homed 1Gig x 2 links) the ASA is mostly just used for Natting (it does have rules but less then 20.)

Can someone tell me why I should buy the ASR 1001 vs the FP 2110?

Its depends on business, if the budget there FP is new model and have more features.

since you are looking only 2GB internet traffic it is good to deploy.

but always check the specs, and contact cisco partner and evaluate your network and suggest.
