Get all your layer 1 stuff measured.
Light levels, stuff like that. You don't indicate any details on the DWDM service,
If its a carrier provided service, get a copy of their test results.
If your 2 MDS see each other, fire up some data migration, generally,
once all the layer 1 (& 2) details get set up DWDM just rocks.
