NTP Disable on interface

Hopefully this is just a quick and easy question for someone, but I just can't seem to find a definitive answer to this anywhere:

If I have a router configured to receive NTP updates from an internal Windows server and then apply 'ntp disable' on the Internet facing interface, will this prevent the Windows server from receiving NTP updates from Internet-based NTP servers?  Or will this just stop the router from partaking in any NTP update/queries via that interface?

Hi,

no, it will not prevent the Windows server from receiving NTP updates from Internet-based NTP servers.

The ntp disable command prevents any NTP associations from using the interface.

This affects both inbound and outbound associations.

However, it will not prevent the router from routing NTP traffic through this interface on its way to another NTP device.

Will not work. 

Windows-based "NTP" is, by itself, for Windows-based platform and not IEEE standard.
