OSPF logging

Without using debug, how can i log ospf lsa's etc. I know how to log the adj. changes.. what i want to see is the info in the lsa's and when and what they transmit and to whom.

Hi,

There is no such facility, I'm afraid. You can only log adjacency changes. There are some cisco-specific OSPF traps that you can enable, though:

snmp-server enable traps ospf cisco-specific errors config-error

snmp-server enable traps ospf cisco-specific errors shamlink [authentication [bad-packet [[config] | config [bad-packet]]

snmp-server enable traps ospf cisco-specific retransmit [packets [shamlink | virt-packets] | shamlink [packets | virt-packets] | virt-packets [shamlink]]

snmp-server enable traps ospf cisco-specific state-change [nssa-trans-change | shamlink [interface | interface-old | neighbor]]

I tried to enable the traps as per ure reply, but i do not see the ospf option in the list of available choices

my version is 12.2(17a)SX2

I'm afraid you'll need at least 12.3(5) for those features...
