OSPF neighborships between L3 switch, router, and ASA: ASA not becoming the BDR

I have a Cisco 3750G layer 3 switch, a Cisco 2951 router, and a Cisco ASA 5510. They are all running the same OSPF process and connected to the same Ethernet segment.

I set priority 253 on the router, 254 on the ASA, and 255 on the layer 3 switch, but it looks like the ASA is not becoming the BDR as I want. The ASA is a DROTHER, the switch is the DR (correct), and the router is the BDR (not correct).

ROUTER#sh ip ospf neighbor

Neighbor ID Pri State Dead Time Address Interface
172.19.0.2 255 FULL/DR 00:00:35 172.18.0.2 Port-channel1.180
172.19.0.8 254 FULL/DROTHER 00:00:34 172.18.0.8 Port-channel1.180

Thanks, that worked! I'll know for my CCIE exam that changing priority won't preempt the current DR / BDR.

Hello

Correct preempton isnt applicable in DR/BDR election
