Hello,

in addition to Oszkar's post, the limit for the number of routers per area recommended by Cisco is 40 - 50 routers per area, although that number is somewhat arbitrary. If you go beyond the recommended limit, you might experience performance degradation due to memory and/or CPU problems.

Yes, you can put the all the router in ospf area 0, but this will increase your multicast problem, better you divide area into small area , this will reduce you LSA advertisement.

i would like to say that, its depend on your design or requirement... when you put all router in same area then its known as ospf in single area... and when you have routers are in multiple area then its known as OSPF in multiple area... but make sure when you creat multiarea design then you have to take care that each and every area should be connected with the area 0...
