Out of region Public IP use

Hello World

 

 

We are in a process of migrating few of our client’s applications/servers from US to UK.  They are currently using a public IP subnet/s assigned by ARIN and they want to retain that subnet for their usage in UK.

 

 

Just wanted to check if it is ok to use these public IPs in UK.  As per my understanding, public IP assignment is region specific and should be used within the region for efficient routing over the internet.

Hello,

 

there was a similar question a few weeks ago here. I don't think there is a legitimate ISP out there that allows you to use an IP address from a different region. They won't even route it properly. So the answer is: you'll have to get new IP addresses for the UK...
