Parent/Child vlan configurations

Hi,

Comparing some 2811 configurations from two years ago to now, I found these changes but have no idea where they came from. Is this a hidden default that is now shown in the configuration? Is this needed or can it be deleted?  Version 12.4(24)T3 I know they need upgrading.

Hi,

The vlan ring and parent commands are used for FDDI and Token ring

parent     ID number of the Parent VLAN of FDDI or Token Ring type VLANs
  ring       Ring number of FDDI or Token Ring type VLANs

You can probably delete them since the 2800 does not support FDDI or Token ring

I agree they can probably be deleted but wanted to find out why they suddenly appeared. I'll ask TAC if they can shed some light on that question.Thanks.
