Hi all,
i have a question regarding bursting in ethernet networks.
Is there a way to configure policing on an ISR (28xx) router, that i get some kind of PIR (EIR) behaviour for an Ethernet WAN connection?
My consideration is, that i get a scenario where i can have e.g. 4 MBit/s of CIR traffic and if i do not use the full 4 MBit/s for some time i can burst to eg. 8 MBit/s (because i have saved some "tokens" for instance).
I have tried a configuration (but with an error):
policy-map egress_queue_test
class voice
priority percent 24
class gold
bandwidth percent 40
class silber
bandwidth percent 16
class system_intern
bandwidth percent 5
class class-default
bandwidth percent 10
policy-map pm_test
class class-default
police cir 4000000 bc 400000
service-policy egress_queue_test
r-test(config)#interface GigabitEthernet0/0.2702
r-test(config-subif)#service-policy output pm_test
Cannot attach queuing-based child policy to a non-queuing based class
Many thanks for your input,
N.
