Please help with logging source-interface loopback...

I have an issues with using the loopback as source for syslog packets.

The second the loopback is used logs are not making iy anymore to the syslog server. Everything works using the Gig interface.

The syslog server can reach the loopback and the router can also reach the syslog server using the loopback as source in ping.

Could someone please help?

Probably the syslog-server is configured to accept messages only from specific IPs. When you change the sending IP then you also have to change the config on the syslog-server.

on a side note, which IOS and which platform is this related to ? Check if you might be hitting the bug below:

"logging source-interface" doesn't work

Symptom:
Changing the "logging source-interface" not take effect.

Conditions:
already configured one logging source-interface. If changed to another one, the ip address displayed in the syslog server still not changed.

Workaround:
Remove the logging host and logging source-interface configs and then re-apply them.
