PPPoE dropping on Cisco 877W

Hi all,

I need help to resolve this issue with my Cisco 877W. I configured it for PPPoE. But once I plug in the ADSL line, the dialer interface will get IP Address. But after like 2 minutes the PPP link will go off and I will get this log message: "Interface Vi1 unbound from profile Di1".

I have tried the following without success:

1. Debug PPP negotiations/events but didnt see any authentication errors

2. Switch between different IOS versions. Presently I'm having c870-advsecurityk9-mz.150-1.M2 on it.

If required I will post my config here. Please I need help on this ASAP

Best would be to use an 871, not an 877 for ADSL.

In any case, you need to post the trace you took.

Hi Idris,

If the dialer gets an IP address, it means that IPCP phase is already completed, so there are no authentication errors. However, in the debugs you should be able to see the disconnection reason.

When the dialer gets an IP, are you able to ping a public IP, e.g. 8.8.8.8? Try to ping directly from the dialer, not from LAN.

And please post configuration and debugs.

Cheers

Marco
