PPTP VPN support on ISR 1100 series routers?

We're migrating from an RV325 to a ISR 1111-4P router. We currently have PPTP VPN server working on the RV325.

We're using 17.5.1 IOS

Router#show version
Cisco IOS XE Software, Version 17.05.01a
Cisco IOS Software [Bengaluru], ISR Software (ARMV8EL_LINUX_IOSD-UNIVERSALK9-M), Version 17.5.1a, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc3)

I tried to setup PPTP VPN server on the ISR 1111-4P and I get an error during configuration:

Router(config-vpdn)#accept-dialin
Router(config-vpdn-acc-in)#protocol pptp
                                    ^
% Invalid input detected at '^' marker.

Router(config-vpdn-acc-in)#protocol ?
  any Use any protocol
  l2tp Use L2TP

Is PPTP still supported on the ISR 1100 series routers? I know that L2TP/IPSEC is the recommended way to go. I know that vendors like Apple have dropped support for PPTP entirely. But I wanted to get PPTP working for now as I do the migration.

Thx!

Hello,

as far as I recall, support for PPTP is being phased out mainly because it is considered unsafe (see the link below).

It has been around since Windows 95 (if you are old enough to remember that).

The RV325 is end of life as well for a couple of years. So you are basically dealing with an evolution in hard and software standards.
