Hi. Guys
are CGR 2010 routers or other cisco CGRs capable to convert protocols ?
as i know these devices make a tunnel on the Ethernet and transfer other protocol such as IEC-101 and RS-485 through this.
this means that at the end of path, end CGR deliver the signal on the initial protocol. so if you give the signal on 101 to near End CGR then you will get the signal also on 101 at the far end CGR.
but is it possible that i give the signal in IEC-101 and then i get it in IEC-104 (Ethernet) at the end of transmission path?
in the other word, question is " can CGR 2010 convert the protocols?"

Thanks George,
the answer was supportive.
i have another question about CGR 2010.
is there any module for CGR 2010 to add RS-485 interface to system.
i found two GRWIC module , one 8-port and the other 4-port. both of them support sync/Async serial interface but it is limited to RS-232. someone told me that they support RS-485 also. but i didn't find anything about RS-485 in the cisco documents.
thanks.
