Question around Fiber to the premises router (FTTP)

Hi All

I have recently had a BT FTTP line installed, up to 500Mbit, the WAN port from the provider is presented on RJ45.

1.Is this still classed as an VDSL line?

2.Does it require a modem still using annex?

3.What router would be recommended for this ?

cheers

FTTP what delivered by BT not VDSL any more.

As per BT claimes, you can use any ethernet port should work. as per i know some people tried RV340 / RV 325 series of Cisco and success.

Hi there

So would we will need to use a dialler interface if we use an ISR? and also use Pppoe?

Cheers

I have not tried any Cisco router,

i used  FTTP - with their delivery Router, since it auto extend WIFi to all over my home ( another repeater free of cost) - so no other AP required at home - before i use to have Meraki 2 AP to cover all home ( since saving cost - BT Free)

i have terminated NGFW FW to BT provided Router- happy all working as expected, only got 75Mb connection good enough for me.

if you have one spare you can try below guide that helped people to setup :
