"Serial 1/0:0 is reset line protocol is down"

I have this interface status in my 2811 router. "Serial 1/0:0 is reset line protocol is down"

It is a controller E1 port.

any help on why the "reset" is there?

Hello Rajesh,

check the status of the underlying E1 controller with

sh controller e1 1/0

probably there is a Layer1 problem and the interface is kept reset for this reason
