Hi,
I have a 10MB link and the carrier limits the band using rate-limit. There are many falls of this circuit. Could you check if the Burst configuration of the rate-limit is suitable for 10MB speed?
The carrier limits the traffic of 10MB using the configuration below:
Rate-limit input rate 10240 burst 512 (Kbyte)
Thanks,

Hello,
Cisco has a formula for this:
Normal Burst = CAR X (1/8) x 1.5
Accoring to this formula, your burst should be 1920.

Hello,
Should I set up the burst with 1920 Kbyte?
Thanks,

Hello,
1920 is the burst based on the Cisco recommendation. Go ahead and configure it, but keep in mind that it is just that, a general recommendation. Once configured, check what traffic conforms and is exceeded on the interface where the rate limit is configured with the 'show interfaces rate-limit command.

"Suitable" for how or for what?
Minimally, Bc should allow at least 1 MTU sized packet. (I suspect a 512 KB Bc supports that.)
Ideally, Bc might also support half the BDP.
