Hello experts, and good day to you all.
I have questions regarding OSPF routing on an extensive wireless network. We have a large wireless network (ring type) implemented just a few years ago, and it has been running just fine until now. We used default OSPF (broadcast type) and divided the wireless network into two areas (52 and 300). I attached a simplified (scale down) wireless network diagram for your understanding.
Recently, I found out some articles regarding recommended OSPF types used in large wireless networks. There is two OSPF type recommended to be used: NBMA and point-to-multipoint. I'm curious why NBMA and point-to-multipoint are recommended for wireless networks. Are these types are much better than the default (broadcast) OSPF type?
Can you all kindly enlighten me on this matter?
Thank you very much.
Alex.
