Dear Team,
When we use VRF lite, it doent use mpls backbone and mp bgp right ? so when we configure RD and RT which protocol will carry rd and rt value as they are extended attributes.
Thanks & Regards,
Naveen

The term VRF Lite is referred to as using VRF without MPLS. And for carrying VPN labels MPBGP is used, not MPLS. Hope this is clear....

Hello
you can use vrf lite to segment your network and control what parts of it can access other areas etc as each instance would have is on rib. I see it as having multiple routers in one device.

pdriver is right, you can imagine vrf-lite as many logical routers in one physical box.
routing protocols or interfaces associated with particular VRF belong only to that particular VRF [logical router] and not to anyone else.
Best Regards
