Remove interface from Multilink - Sanity Check

I need a sanity check.

There are several config entries for interfaces for multilink.

When removing an interface for testing purposes, I was assuming all you need to remove is the multilink group <group#> command?  Someone challenged me and asked about ppp multilink command too.

Do you need to remove both or is removing the group all you need?

Thanks,

Rick

Right now my answer would be it depends. I am not sure that we know enough about the situation to give you really good answers. What kind of testing will be done? If it is testing by the provider and you just want the circuit out of the multilink so intrusive testing by provider does not impact multilink traffic, then I think it is sufficient to remove the multilink group. If you are going to be doing things on the router to test the circuit or the interface then it may be needed to remove both the multilnk group and the ppp multilink.
